Swivel sleeves allow the line to untwist during line retrieval which prevents undesirable tangling. Put the main line through the hole and the hook with a leader is tied to the eye of the swivel. The result is that the fish pulls the bait and doesn't have as much restriction. Try leaving slack in the line and loose drag for excellent results
