Kingfish Double Rig 2 Pack
Kingfish have exceptionally sharp, jagged teeth, but not so sharp as to be able to slice through fine wire. They have excellent eyesight and can be aware of wire that’s larger than #3. If you are targeting kingfish directly, you are going to want to go with Rite Angler Kingfish Rigs made with high-quality wire leaders. Ready to go right out of the package.
THE KINGFISH RIG: 2’ Wire leader. Strong, durable 9175 O'Shaugnessy short shank hooks, 1/0 and 3/0. L774 treble hooks, #4, and #3. Our treble hooks increase the chances of staying connected. The single hook is set in the nose of the fish and the treble hook is set around the tail. Kingfish and wahoo mainly "short strike" and bite the tail of their prey off so they cannot swim and then come back to finish the job.
