Stainless Steel Planer
Rite Angler's stainless steel planer is available in three sizes. Use the smaller planers for low-speed trolling with small lures, and the larger ones for faster speeds and larger lures. It allows you to fight your fish without a heavy lead sinker on your line.
Downrigger planers (also known as a drone planer) use the force of the water to take your trolling lines deeper. Heavy lead downrigger weights rely only on gravity.
When trolling and dragging planers try fishing two rods at staggered distances. Always keep the boat moving forward. You may also be interested in our Poor Man's Downrigger and avoid the need for a homemade downrigger.
